Self Leadership for Authentic Leadership of Others

When you can lead yourself you can truly and authentically lead others.

At Innerwealth we believe that business and career success first begins with personal success and personal success means your body, mind and spirit are in balance.

Daily exercises and good habits can keep you personally balanced. We divide this as:

  1. Before Work
  2. During Work
  3. After Work

  1. Inspired Before Work

You can’t give what you haven’t got

Going to work hungry for inspiration, work satisfaction, approval and excitement is like looking for water in the Simpson Desert – good luck with that.

You owe it to yourself and others to turn up at work inspired. The two ingredients of this are:

a. Mental Strength

b. Physical Metabolism

Mental Strength has four elements that can be practiced before work. Physical metabolism requires HIT – 3 minutes of exercise at 30 second bursts. This, for sure, helps you turn up to work, inspired.

  2. Inspired At Work

Nobody does to you more than you do to yourself

Waiting to go home from work to do yoga or meditate or have a beer in order to give you balance to stress will not be sustainable. What we need is “at work” spiritual and emotional drills and thrills that balance the day before the day gets unbalanced. This skill set is powerfully productive as it arrests the exponential decline in mental and emotional activity that typically occurs as the day extends past 4 hours of work.

a. Emotional Balancing, Centring and Calming

b. Inspired By Nature – Spiritual stuff

3. Inspired After Work

If you come home from work with less energy (enthusiasm) than you went to work with in the morning you’re going to pay a very high price because the pain of regret always outweighs the pain of discipline.

When you walk in the door at night, you are expected to be your best self. If you come home from work with less energy than you went to work with you’re on a one way ticket to domestic sabotage. Don’t do that. Incompetence at work is inexcusable. Why should your family pay for that? In fact, they won’t.  So, it’s a key ingredient of great self leadership to come home inspired. This means closure, on time and available. It can also mean getting the books out later in the night to do a few unfinished jobs. The emotional shower and a few other great skills will have you sleeping like a baby, loving like a bird and singing in the shower, (poor neighbours) after a big day at work.

a. Closure with “total Recall” exercise

b. Look ahead “the Madonna process”
